The things that happen every year
Festivals, carnivals and shows in the towns these routes run to. Stored as rules rather than dates — “the first Saturday of August”, not “2 August 2026” — so the next one is worked out rather than typed, and this page is still right in five years whether or not anybody has touched it.
A rule is only allowed to name a day once it has reproduced two years the event was actually observed on. With one observed year it names its month and stops, because one year is not a pattern. A date that came from the organiser is labelled as theirs and linked; a date we computed is labelled expected. The two never look alike.
Every entry links the organiser, who is the authority on all of it, and links their own page for that event where they keep one that will still be there next year. Three of these do not have one — the entry says so rather than leaving a gap, because a festival with no permanent web address is a real thing to know about it, and somebody local may simply know where the page lives. Every entry also carries a line for sending a date, or a page. That is the whole mechanism by which this gets better, and it sits on each event rather than at the bottom so the ask is the one you were already reading.

The Town says over 80 exhibitors selling handmade crafts, woodworking, jewellery, paintings and home improvement. There is an admission charge, with weekend and daily passes; what it is this year is the Town's to publish, not ours to copy.

The Town describes a multi-day festival of affordable winter activities. February is the middle of the rink season, so it lands in the same months a travelling hockey family is already in town.

Is something missing, or wrong?
Almost certainly, and the people who can tell are the ones who were standing there. This carries what recurs, in the towns these routes reach. Each entry above has a line for sending a date; there is no form and no account, and one year with its dates is a complete contribution.
A date you send does something specific. An event we have seen once can only name its month — one year is not a pattern — so a second observed year is what lets the page work out the day itself, for every year after, with nobody editing anything. If something has moved for good or stopped running, that changes the entry or removes it.
And if you run one of these: the three entries that say we have no page to link are not a complaint, they are the gap. Two of them live in a panel whose web address changes whenever the site is rebuilt, and one has a year in the address, so last year’s already leads somewhere else. A festival is easier to find, to share and to link when it has an address that outlives the year — send us the one it should be and this page will use it.
