Arrive and leave through the same airport or ferry, or arrive at one end of the island and leave from the other. Every drive is measured, and your days are laid out for you.
More options: 250 km a day
You set how far a day; the plan answers with days. Distances are by road. Your maps app gives the time on the day.
Renting? Book the car when you book the flight. Cars book up fast in summer, says the province's tourism desk; in June 2026 CTV reported St. John's airport agencies booked for nearly the whole summer.
Each place is a day out and back. Add the ones you want; each becomes a day.

Moose. The province states that the likelihood of injury in a moose collision is twice as high between dusk and dawn as in daytime — Transportation and Infrastructure.
In road order, not merit order — we do not rank places. The figure is what the detour actually costs, measured. Add one and the map and days redraw.
Your days
In road order. Where two neighbouring places are a shorter drive the other way round, they swap. The leg times below are the measured drives, out and back included.
Camping: campgrounds are in the list of places above, marked "campground", and each night offers the nearest one. Hotels and B&Bs aren't listed here. The guides: Gros Morne and Terra Nova's campgrounds and the provincial parks, each measured from the ferries too.
Know a place to stay that's missing? This list comes from OpenStreetMap, so nobody can pay to be on it. Add it to the map yourself (about twenty minutes on a phone), or email us the details and we'll put it on the map.
It does not know what is open, what the weather will do, or whether a ferry is running — those live on the linked pages, with their sources. It has no opinion on where to sleep.
Landing at one airport and flying home from another makes this one ticket, not two — a multi-city fare, sometimes called an open-jaw. Search it that way from the start.
The tab nobody clicks
Every flight search opens on return or one-way, and multi-city is a third tab beside them. Miss it and the obvious move is two separate one-ways, which is usually the dearer way to buy the same trip — and it is bought before anybody gets as far as planning the drive.
What to put in the two legs
Leg one ends at . Leg two starts at and goes home. Your own airport fills the other end of each — this page does not know where you are flying from, and does not ask.
No prices or booking links: fares change, and nothing on this site is for sale. The two airport codes are the part you would otherwise have to work out.
Renting a car for this, one way
Collecting at one airport and leaving from another makes this a one-way rental.
What nobody publishes
None of the three airport authorities publishes anything about dropping a car at a different airport from the one you collected it at (checked 2026-09-17). The answer exists only with the rental company, it varies by company and by season, and it is the first thing to settle, before the flights.

Hear when iceberg season looks worth the trip
One or two emails a year: where icebergs are showing up, and which drive gets you there.
One step left: click the link in the confirmation email and you're on the list.
That didn't go through. Try again in a moment.
