Questions people actually ask
Is any of Gros Morne step-free?+
Parks Canada lists easier-access places: the Western Brook Pond trail (3 km of compacted crushed stone, gentle slopes), Shallow Bay beach with mats onto the sand, and both visitor centres. Its accessibility page is the authority.
Can I borrow an all-terrain wheelchair?+
Parks Canada lends four types of non-motorized all-terrain mobility devices free of charge, booked ahead at 709-458-2417. You transport them yourself; Parks Canada says all of them fold or come apart to fit in a car trunk.
What about the rest of the island?+
Not yet. Parks Canada publishes this level of detail for Gros Morne; we have not found the same for other parks, and the open map tags step-free access on almost none of our trails. Each trail and stop page says what the map records, if anything.
