60.1 km, on Routes 410 and 414. It measures the same both ways. Short for this region, but still 60 km of unlit two-lane road.

Can I do both in a day from Deer Lake?+

Yes, but it is a long one. Deer Lake to Baie Verte is 159 km and Baie Verte to La Scie another 60 km, so you are over 200 km out before you turn around. Both properly is an overnight on the peninsula.

Which one should I pick if I only have one?+

La Scie is on the province's list of more popular iceberg viewing places; Baie Verte is the larger town and the practical base for the peninsula. If icebergs are the trip and they are running, La Scie is the answer.
